Life is a journey, its also about moments and how they make you feel.
AFTER WORK SEA moments were made by amazing people, companies, sun, sea and boats – one beautiful white SWAN and plenty of small grey rubber boats turned to happiness, laughter and pure joy.
Moments turn into memories and as best they bring your life joy, happiness and strength; make your life worth living. Sometimes the best moments are outside of your comfort zone; like rowing a rubber boat with 60 other business people. To be honest, I had to convince most of them to come and row. But for next year, the target is 120. We are all ready 60 to row.

Like life, events are also like puzzles. There are so many pieces that need to fit to make a whole picture. If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable. We had also the best weather possible, all parts where there.

Make mistakes. Make many mistakes, because that is the way to learn and grow. This was the first AFTER WORK SEA, next year we will sail again and row again 28th of August in Lauttasaari and have our event in restaurant BLUE PETER. – Which is a great place for any event. I can’t be happier how everything went, but its also learning by doing.
Smell the sea and feel the sky. Let your soul and spirit fly . 10 rowing teams, 6 in each team, 2 always in one boat at the start line in Lauttasaari front of Restaurant Blue Peter.
People took it first pretty serious, but it changed to laughter pretty fast. Some got also wet, but with smiling faces and one could hear laughter.

The ”winners” received watches from KOLO design and the last team to win them selves got wooden bird houses made also by KOLO design. A draw was drawn among the other teams and one team was lucky to win skiing season pass to KALPALINNA and one team won Champange and Canapes in wonderfull hotel MARIA.
My beautiful friend inside and out Tiina Salmesvirta works for the Sea Safety diving company and I was lucky to row with her on our ”Press boat” – the only media we invite to our events.
Great things in business are seldom done by one person. They’re done by a team of people. You can not be a team alone.
This was the rowing route. Some had to row with power, some carried a beach ball in the water with a bat.

In the evening we had a fashion show, dance school, auctions and a fantastic talented singer songwriter Ingrid Alaina. You will hear from her. Thank you so much INGRID! We all loved you and your music.

ECOFURN had a major part in the event auctions. EcoFurn® EcoChair is made of solid wood and rope only, without any plastic or metal parts. Heart of the chair is hemp rope, which gathers the chair and makes it flexible. Absence of fixed fastening lets the wooden parts shift a little so that you can sit comfortably, whatever shape you are.
EcoFurn was founded in 2009. Nowadays they have over 20 different wooden products in various wood types and colours. In addition to our own EcoFurn products, we produce our customers’ own wooden repertoires. We have grown from a tiny carpenter shop to an international enterprise, which employs 50 people in Finland and in Estonia. Our products are available in over 40 countries all over the world.
In the evening we also had a fashion show. Great brands; ANDIATA, HELLY HANSEN, NEWLAND, NIINA KARHUNEN CONSEPT, ITGOES, TOBIS RE/DESIGN, URBAN DESIGN BOUTIQUE, SAGA FURS, UNIIKKIMEKOT & LIISA’s.fi. Presented by beautiful professional models from Fashion Model Agency. There was also close to 20 companies attending the fair part.
Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.
Riina Laine is the world champion in body painting and her ”art” took also part to Helsinki championship games in TONKKUMI. In behind we also supported TEEN CHALLENGE FINLAND. They repaired bicycles in the event and the funds go to teens with challenges in the capital area.
You have two hands. Help your self with one hand and others with the other. You don’t need a reason to help other people.
And last but not least thank you Magnus, Nautor Swan, S/y Belmont, Carla Baldauf, Blue Peter, my family and everyone who came for helping this event happen. Teamwork is the heart of great achievement.
I asked people that attended to tell their slogan. LEAD WITH YOU HEART & WALK THE TALK was Entrepreneur Magnus Ljungs sentence. I would change in my life the word lead to live, but otherwise this sentence was a sentence that touched me the most.
Teamwork makes the dream work. AFTER that WORK and hope, but never hope more than work.
